Instructions | Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.
Who is Jesus Christ to you? | Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of my life. He is my redeemer and shepherd. In understanding more of His nature, he has revealed his presence, peace, love, provision, victory, righteousness, healing, and care in my life. I believe in God, the Father, the Creator, infinite in love, wisdom, and power; is supremely manifest in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, whose virgin birth, life, death on the cross, and resurrection have given to mankind a unique revelation of the nature and reality of God. Believing with the Apostle Paul that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself" (2 Corinthians 5:19) and with John that "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4); I accept the assurance of The Gospel that God "gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). The divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ, the atonement through Him by which men are brought to God, and the gift of the Holy Spirit as the ever-present Comforter and Guide, looking to the Holy Spirit for understanding of the Truth are essentials of my Christian life and experience. I cannot imagine my life without Him.
How does a person become Christian? | Because sin entered the world, there is a need for repentance and salvation which bring deliverance from sin and the possession of spiritual life. This comes through personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, who through His love and sacrifice draws mankind to Him. Conviction of the Holy Spirit causes the soul to feel its need for reconciliation with God. The newness of life through salvation comes when Jesus is confessed as LORD and Savior. As stated in Romans 10:9, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (NIV), and Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (NIV). In that declaration and yielding of one's life in loving and loyal obedience, a relationship to God becomes an actual reality, a transformation without a ceremony, because our entire spiritual life springs from the direct relation of our souls with a living and present God and cooperation with Him.
Describe your beliefs about the Bible: | I believe that the Holy Scriptures were given by the inspiration of God and are the divinely authorized record of the moral principles and doctrines of Christianity. In them, as interpreted and unfolded by the Holy Spirit, is an ever-fresh and unfailing source of spiritual truth for the proper guidance of my life and practice. The Scriptures show me the nature and purpose of God, the story of God and His people, the message and mission of Jesus Christ, and teachings to salvation, the way of life, and eternal destiny.
Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit: | The gift of the Holy Spirit is the ever-present Comforter and Guide. I look to the Holy Spirit for my understanding of the Truth. As part of the New Covenant, Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit in John 14:15-17, “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you" (NIV). The Holy Spirit is a living presence with us. We are temples of the Holy Spirit and it is this spiritual endowment that enables us to go beyond ourselves toward the Christian ideals of goodness and love, and to respond to the power and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I hold fast to Jesus' promise of this comfort in John 14:18-21, "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them” (NIV). This can only be accomplished by the indwelling and continued filling of the Holy Spirit.
Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ: | As a 12 year-old girl, I remember the day that I received Christ. Unfortunately, it wasn't a message of love that caught my attention, but one of fear and condemnation. The flow of tears was more from relief than joy. I can testify that I received the "fire insurance" part of salvation, but did not have anyone to mentor me in the way of Christ. There was no one to talk to about my experience. It was not until I was a wife and mother in my early twenties that I began to receive all that Christ had for me. I began to grow in my faith with other believers in understanding the Gospel of Christ and I received the Holy Spirit. From that time, I have raised four sons with my husband in a Christian home, practiced as a nurse knowing that Christ is the healer (also affirmed in my personal experiences), and began to discover my gifts and how to use them for the Kingdom. In fulfillment of the promise given to Joel, “I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh,” (Joel 2:28), I believe that our Heavenly Father in His wisdom has bestowed a diversity of gifts upon His children for the building up of His Kingdom through gifts of service and ministry. Of my favorite verses is by the Apostle Paul to the Church at Ephesus, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;” (Ephesians 4:11-13 NKJV). This became an anchor verse for me when God led me to complete my MOL degree at Colorado Christian University in 2018. Not knowing at the time that in 2020, during a great crisis, I would be called to lead the church where I received my salvation as a young girl. In my current walk, I am coaching others to embrace their gifts to edify and equip, and to come to the unity of faith and fullness of Christ. I believe that when gifts are used to the glory of God, they constitute a vital exercise of the universal ministry of all Christians. All Christians should cultivate and develop their gifts through prayerful study, close observation of human needs, and obedience to the Holy Spirit. The gift, the call, and the careful training and exercise of the gift has lead me to be especially devoted to equipping and coaching God’s people for the work of His service. I believe and live by a certain set of principles arising out of my unique values and experiences which create my standard of conduct and drive my decisions. The following values shape my thinking and behavior: In particular, value #3 has influenced decision-making in my leadership style by enabling me to lead, coach, and mentor others to identify their dreams and encourage them to reach their potential. This led to their personal and professional growth by helping them discover their purpose. As a result, I have witnessed those mentored receive promotions, further their education, become professionals, advance their careers, become my successor in leadership positions, improve family/work harmony, and experience spiritual growth. As I experience the leadership season of convergence, I founded The Cornerstone Coach to help other Christian leaders achieve the dream of elevated wellness at any stage of life, regardless of one's current health status. I believe that God's people need to live well and thrive to serve the Kingdom of God. After all, it’s His will…God. Wants. You. Well.
Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.) | During my time in practice, I have found that to begin the day with a schedule blocked for my most important is not negotiable. Time in devotion, prayer, meditation, solitude, and worship, prepares me for the day. I cannot give what I do not have. My recent health and wellness journey taught me that self-care is a gift and I needed to receive it with grace and gratitude. Recently, I founded The Cornerstone Coach was founded to help others achieve the dream of elevated wellness at any stage of life, regardless of one's current health status. I use a holistic approach applying coaching skills and biblical principles to help others overcome obstacles. Each person is uniquely created by God and with personalized coaching, in a holistic approach, integrating 7 areas of wellness and partnering with them as the expert of your journey, alongside your trusted healthcare providers. This combination provides the best of alternative healing with conventional medicine so you can feel, look, and live better because each one's calling is too precious to leave unfulfilled. Devising agreements for the partnership, creating a safe container for coaching, prayer, journaling, seeking direction through the Bible Scriptures, providing encouragement, allowing space for silence, worship, and expression of emotions, and accountability plans are all a part of the coaching process.
