Instructions | Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions. |
Who is Jesus Christ to you? | Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior. He died for my sins, shed his blood on the cross so I am forgiven, suffered bodily for my healing, was buried and resurrected so that I can have life eternal with him. Jesus Christ is perfect and the one that I follow and imitate in order to become more like him. |
How does a person become Christian? | A person must invite Jesus into their life as their personal Lord and Savior and believe on him as the only way to eternal life and relationship with the Father. |
Describe your beliefs about the Bible: | The Bible is the word of God, written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is perfect and inerrant, worthy for reproof and correction. It is the manna from heaven which we feed on daily to help sustain our life with Christ. |
Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit: | The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) who came to the earth after Jesus' ascension to the Father. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and righteousness and leads us into all truth. I listen to the Holy Spirit daily to receive instruction, guidance and to obey. The Holy Spirit is always communicating, and it is up to me to attune to him, listen, and obey. |
Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ: | I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior when I was 12 years old, was baptized, and since have been a Christian and follower of Christ. As a child, I attended Church of the Nazarene and when I was 19 years old I switched to a charismatic church while living in Salem, Oregon. Since then I have attended two other more charismatic churches and now am attending Church of The King in Mandeville, Louisiana, pastored by Steve Robinson. My wife and I attend church on a weekly basis. On a daily basis, I am faithful to studying Scripture, prayer, meditation, and using the SOAP method for journaling. I also keep a gratitude journal as part of my journaling. On an infrequent basis, I practice fasting and prayer and also at times practice solitude. Worship is a crucial part of my walk with Jesus, while at church, in our home, and in our cars. My wife and I started attending Church of The King in 2004. We led the DivorceCare program at church from 2010-2018. In 2016, we started working with couples in a coaching/mentoring capacity. We also volunteer for certain events. |
Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.) | I work with couples and men in a relational context. I walk with couples who are struggling in marriage, use SYMBIS to work with couples for their pre-marital requirement, and walk with men who are going through separation or divorce. In the context of coaching ministry, I pray with and for the couples and men I am coaching. In my individual prayer time, I pray for them and pray before, during and after coaching sessions with them. I utilize Scripture extensively drawing on the wisdom of God and presenting principles for life to the people God has entrusted to me. I draw on every Scriptural principle the Holy Spirit shows me to provide foundation for each coaching session. Before sessions I will pray for the people I am coaching and the session itself. I ask the Holy Spirit to lead the session and even during the session will (under my breath or in my mind) ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit. |
