Field Experience Description | My field experience practicing Christian Life Coaching took place from September 11,2024 through November 21,2024. I had 10 clients, with some clients having only one session with me to others having upto seven sessions with me. Sessions were both in-person and virtual. All of the sessions began and ended with prayer as the Holy Spirit was invited to be active in the sessions. My knowledge of who God is and who I am in Him played a vital role in the sessions as I practiced being a Coach that coaches through a Biblical world view. Meditating on scripture was key for all of the sessions. Many clients actions plan was to memorize scripture to use it when fighting spiritually. All of the first sessions (intake) followed the same format; building a relationship with the client, laying the groundwork, logistical expectations, brainstorming time and goal setting, and ending all sessions with client repeating action steps. The biggest awareness was seeing first hand the power of drawing the answers from within the client and not focusing on what I know. Follow-up sessions was a great space for building the Coach-Client relationship as we continued to work together towards focusing on the client’s personal or professional goals. Exploring God’s will for the client was always the biggest tool as the client explored their current relationship with God and where they wanted to grow with God. Each session provided the opportunity to practice my listening skills and adjust for the next session. There was a lot of growth from the first hour practicing Coaching to the last hour (25th hour). Focusing and refocusing on material learned from the three Foundations was another vital tool. Having God at the center of all sessions and brainstorming with the client and working side by side with each other along with seeing the growth throughout the session or sessions was the most inspiring experience I have ever had. This field experience practicing as a Christian Life Coach has equipped me for what God has next for me. I am so blessed to have found ICCI. I know this was not a coincidence. |

Instructions | Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions. |
Who is Jesus Christ to you? | Jesus Christ is everything to me. Understanding that I am here by God’s grace, mercy and love for me even while I am a sinner has guided me to understand how important His son is to me, because I have been and am that important to Him. Jesus Christ died for me! Jesus said to the Father before fulfilling His prophesy that if it was God’s will He would go through the suffering. Jesus Christ was in agony, but was willing, regardless, to die for my sins. He was obedient for me, so that I would be saved. For that reason Jesus Christ is my everything. Jesus Christ is love, compassion, gentleness, humble, and the best example of a servant-leader. He has taught me that even the highest of them all, which He is in God's kingdom, can humble Himself to the least. The provides one of the biggest lessons for me. Jesus Christ is my Shepherd. |
How does a person become Christian? | A person becomes Christian by acknowledging that Christ died and resurrected from the dead, the person repents and is baptized. God also asks that we repent and sin no more. That doesn’t mean that we are no longer sinners or that we never sin, because by nature we are sinners but only through grace are we saved through our faith, but it means that we show in actions that we are moving away from that sin and towards Him. |
Describe your beliefs about the Bible: | I believe that the Bible is the manual to living life the righteous way. God has left a manual for us on how to live and His Word is as alive now as it was thousands of years ago. I belief that the power and authority spoken of in the Bible is true. I acknowledge that it holds power through His Word spoken and that lives of changed and transformed through the Bible. |
Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit: | The Holy Spirit is given to us by God as a gift. The Holy Spirit is God in those who have repented and been baptized. The Holy Spirit is God’s power within us. The Holy Spirit is our strength when we are weak and our dsicernment. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us. With the Holy Spirit within us, we are equipped in the same manner God has equipped Jesus Christ, becuase we are heirs of God and co-heirs of Christ. There is no weapon that can form against God's spirit in us. The Holy Spirit has power above all things here on earth. |
Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ: | I came to God in 2014. I was baptized in August 2014, when I was 30 years old. Encouraged by being a mother of two girls, I wanted to offer them more than what I was already offering to them. At that point I knew about God, but I didn’t know God personally. I did believe that living for God was a better life and I wanted that for my girls. God found my weakness, my love for my children, to bring me to my knees and want Him more than I wanted anything from the world. Even though I didn’t have any apparent addictions, I came to find out 2 years ago in 2022, 4 years into healing from betrayals in my marriage, that I had worshiped my husband all of our marriage. Even though I was baptized in 2014, not until 2 years ago, did I come to understand a new addiction was possible, being addicted to my husband, worshipping my husband was preventing me from truly worshipping God and loving myself. Worshipping my husband existed due to childhood wounds, hurts and my upbringing. I learned to enable and be codependent from my mother, as I saw her being that person in her marriage with my dad as he struggled with a handful of addictions. I have gone through the biggest transformation from January 16, 2019, the day of discovering my husbands betrayals in our marriage, to now. These past, almost, 6 years, I have leaned on God like never before. Through discovery after discovery, after another round of discoveries again and time again, God was my refuge, I don't see myself being the sane, healed and healthy person I am today without Him by my side. Back in 2019, it was God that saved me from darkness, and I saw it before my eyes. Just when I was being tricked by satan, and satan using my husband to offer me something that was going to lead me to death (take me away from God), God revealed what needed to be revealed to prevent that darkness in my life. It still brings me chills throughout my whole body when I talk about it, because I could see God’s hand in that miracle. God knew that my heart was with Him and He knew that I needed saving before even going there, into that dark place that my husband was tempting me to go into. He is such an amazing Father for me. My saving grace. Throughout these past 6 years, in the midst on the ongoing spiritual battle that is still going on today, I have surrounded myself by Christ- centered woman, communities, and church family. I have gone over, under, and through anything that I can use to heal, become a better version of myself, and to look more like Christ regardless of the storms. Besides God’s Holy Spirit that has carried me through these pasts 6 years, learning about letting go of control and being introduced to having boundaries has really freed me. Boundaries have taught me that I don't need to control anyone to feel that I am in control. I now understand that I can humbly state what I accept and do not accept in my life without having to tell anyone what they need or should do. I can be happy and have God's joy everyday knowing that I can now say no to all things that are not for me. |
Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.) | My Life Coaching ministry is focused on the renewal of our minds. The focus is Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”, because by renewing our minds we are able to allow God’s will to come upon our lives. Syncing with His will takes place when we get rid of the lies. I have had a lot of practice through the past 6 years of working towards healing myself, in rebuking the lies of the enemy. I have practiced something named Prophetic Promises, which is when we take a lie and replace it for God’s truth. With this focus for my ministry, the Holy Spirit is invited into all sessions with clients. Prayer is done at the beginning and end of the session. God’s truth is revealed through the time together with the client as the client digs deep into his/her life with my help as I listen to their needs and I prompt the necessary questions to help get them to what God ultimately wants for their life. Meditating on scripture is a goal to fight off all the lies and that is done during sessions as well as the client practicing that on their own time. The sessions are Holy Spirit led, meaning there is always space for whatever the client or I feel God is leading the session towards. |
