Field Experience Description

I spent 7 years (2016 - 2023) as a nurse in a faith based non-profit where I coached abortion determined women to help them evaluate their choice and the long term effects of it on their core values, family dynamics, and personal identity. We also discussed other options and her personal barriers around those options. This coaching frequently led her to make a different decision that was more in alignment with her personal values and goals for life. Kristin Holubeck is my professional reference, as she worked closely with me during those 7 years. In August of 2022, my husband and I launched our Journey 2 Unity Coaching practice. Since that time, I have almost 150 hours of Individual coaching with women, and an additional 130 hours coaching couples with marriage issues. The training I have received through ICCI, and the mentoring with Lea Carawan of Transformed Living have been extremely helpful in developing a coaching style that helps others identify where they are currently stuck, and helps them find freedom to move forward towards their goals.

Instructions

Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Jesus is my savior and the Lord of my life. I love Him and trust Him to be in control of all aspects of my life. He is also my friend and the one Iook to for guidance in all things.

How does a person become Christian?

By understanding they are a sinner and can not make it heaven on their own. They are wiling to admit their need for a savior, repent of their sins and surrender their life to Jesus.

Describe your beliefs about the Bible:

The bible is God's truth in written form. He was gracious enough to know we would need a roadmap and guide through this life, so He used men inspired by the Holy Spirit to pen these needed truths for all generations to have. It is a powerful, living word, able to divide between flesh & spirit. It is a great weapon against the enemy when spoken and applied by the believer.

Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit:

Holy Spirit is a valuable part of the trinity. He dwells inside of me as my guide, counselor and voice of wisdom. Holy Spirit gives me insights of what God is doing (prophetic wisdom). He is my constant companion, who brings conviction, revelation, and power to my life.

Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ:

I was raised in a Christian home with a generational legacy of belief in Christ on both sides. However, it was in a strict denomination that was very legalistic. i grew up believing my value as a woman was very low and my role was to keep my mouth shut, bake casseroles and make the men look good. I ended up in an abusive marriage with no identity of my own. It was this situation that led to discover the truth of how God really sees me and my value to him as a woman. I got to know God as a good father, and Jesus as a friend and savior. I was filled with the Holy Spirit and began growing in a true relationship with the triune God. He was so personal to me during those difficult years. He gave me personal revelation of Himself through His word. It came alive for me in ways I had never experienced before. Over time, as God taught me how to fight Spiritual battles and stand on the truth of his promises, God restored my identity in Him. He also restored my marriage. I love God with all my heart and could not go a minute without His grace to empower me so I can be who I'm called to be & do what I'm called to do!
I am actively involved with Gateway Justin Church where I serve as a table facilitator for Sunday School classes, and as a small group leader for 2 groups (women and marriage).

Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.)

Through Journey 2 Unity, we have multiple ways we coach clients. In addition to individual clients, we work closely with marriages. We have a Transformation Experience where we spend 2 days working 1:1 with couples. Every session starts and ends with prayer to invite Holy Spirit to come & reveal what he wants to reveal to the client that day. God will frequently give me a scripture passage for a client to hear and then contemplate how that passage applies to their situation. I also use the PIC approach from Transformed Living as well as the belief principle to help them discover what they believe and why. Then she can access if her behavior lines up with her belief. In our 2 day marriage transformation, we help the couple see that their beliefs are leading to their feelings and their behaviors. Once they recognize that, they are able to evaluate the beliefs and make adjustments to assure they are aligned with God's truth. They may be believing lies about themselves their spouse , or even God based off a filter they didn't even realize was there. We train them to start looking for the belief behind their negative emotions and behaviors and then take time with God to meditate on those beliefs and allow Him to give them new beliefs in alignment with His truth. I also love to encourage my clients to spend time in worship alone. Many times we don't know the answer, or feel we can't hear God, or the circumstances are so loud we can't think. Worship is a powerful way to get in God's presence where He can speak to us and calm our soul.
