Field Experience Description

I started coaching in January 2021. I received my certification for addiction and recovery in September 2020. I coached with them until February 2024, when there was a fallout. Along with 20-30 other coaches, ARCS released us without notice. Several students stayed with me. I began focusing on getting my licensure with ICCI. God blessed me with funds to have Jill Monaco as a mentor to fulfill that requirement. What a blessing! Currently, I seek to build my coaching practice.

Instructions

Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, my Lord, and my Savior. I believe that when Jesus died on the Cross and rose again; He gave us the Holy Spirit as a deposit towards eternal life. Jesus is the reason for being reunited or restored to God. I believe in living to be more like Christ. I understand that I walk by faith according to the word of God. Jesus is the reason I am on this path today. I believe I am commissioned to share the Gospel.

How does a person become Christian?

You accept the gift of salvation by confessing Jesus as the Son of God, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and confessing with your mouth. Repentance comes next. You devote yourself to becoming Christlike daily. You read the word of God; you attend a local church body; you pray and learn to trust God and His Holy Spirit. Becoming a Christian is a process. God transforms your life as you surrender daily.

Describe your beliefs about the Bible:

I believe the Bible is the word of God. It is the standard by which Christians should live their lives. I believe the Bible is the unadulterated word of God. I use several translations. I do not change the text of the word to insert my perspective. I believe the word says what it means and means what it says. When I have questions, I submit them to God in prayer for His truth. Then I revisit the Scripture. I read the word daily. Sometimes it is one verse. Sometimes it's a chapter. Sometimes it's a book.

Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit:

I believe the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, the Spirit of truth, a deposit for eternal life. He is my counselor, the wisdom of God. The Holy Spirit is the power of God.

Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ:

I accepted the gift of salvation when I was 26, April 1983—with no prior knowledge of what walking this journey looked like. In my zeal, I made mistakes. However, I stayed on course by staying in the word and trusting God to transform me. The journey continued as I dropped those things that weren't Christlike. I am still dropping those things that are not Christlike. The flesh has more layers than any onion I have pealed. However, God has been so good to me. Through physical assault, deception, betrayal, divorce, and single parenting, to name a few, God has kept me. Going around in circles in 2019, I asked God to change things for me. ARCS-to-Freedom came up as a method to heal and learn to help others. I went through the class for 15 months. I received my certification in addiction and recovery based on the 12-step program. I wanted more, though. I received my CBT certification. I wanted to serve God and share the Good News. I wanted this pivotal piece added as I continued on my journey to help others and serve others. I have a website blogging about God's goodness. God led me last year to go back to school. I just graduated with a Master's degree in New Media Journalism. The focus is sharing my faith, Christian life coaching, and aging and retirement. I found ICCI 2022 and found safety. I am now committed to my coaching practice. I am committed to keeping the faith.

Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.)

I started coaching in January 2021. I received my certification for addiction and recovery in September 2020. I coached with them until February 2024, when there was a fallout. Along with 20-30 other coaches, ARCS released us without notice. Several students stayed with me. I began focusing on getting my licensure with ICCI.
