Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Most say that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior. Yes, that is true. But WHO really IS Jesus to me? After leaving the Jehovah's Witness organization after 23 years, I was able to really see the truth of the deity of Christ through other bible translations other than the New World Translation that JWs use (which is not a reliable bible after all). Like Saul, who later became Paul, the scales fell from my eyes, and Jesus opened the way for me to see HIM through God's Word, through fellowshipping with like-minded believers, and through the power of prayers. I was able to see that Jesus truly is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Isa 41:4b, 44:6), the light in Gen 1:1 and John 1:1-3. God became flesh, and dwelt with mankind, why? So that we can SEE God in the way that allows us to come to Him, because "You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live" and "No one has ever seen God but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known" (Ex 33:20, John 1:18 NIV). Isa 43:10-11 brings out that before God, "no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior." Isa 45:23 and Phil 2:10,11 emphasizes that every knee must bow, to whom? The LORD. To Jesus. The One and Only. The only Savior, there is no other. This Jesus is my Lord and Savior. He is the one that brought me from the darkness (JW) into His light! He has helped me to see that He is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. He is Lord of lords and King of kings. He is my today, tomorrow and forever.

How does a person become Christian?

A person becomes a Christian by believing in Jesus, obeying his commands, and doing the work of the Great Commission. By being 100% all in. There is more to being Christian than just being baptized and attending church. Being Christian is being in the Word of God, connecting to Him through personal prayer, through praying for others, through sharing His Word with others, the bibleless, those who have never heard (Rom 10:14-15). One becomes Christian by surrendering his/her life to Him, making the sacrifices that the world offers in order to serve Him fully, in His mission, His church, His people.

Describe your beliefs about the Bible:

I believe that the bible is God's Word, that through His Holy Spirit, He inspired the men of old to write so that all people can and will benefit from reading and what He is asking of us (2 Tim 3:16-17). Without His Word, how can we benefit? How would all of history, from the days of Eden to the last of the apostles have been known? How can we understand the truth of God's mission to redeem mankind from the sin and death that has a hold on us? How can we see the works of God throughout history and his plans of redemption through the death and resurrection of Christ throughout the Old and New Testament if it didn't exist? Without God's Word, archeologists wouldn't know where to begin to look for evidence, because no such evidence would be known to man in order to search for it.

By reading the bible, and praying for wisdom to understand what we are reading, we experience "ah-ha moments" as God is speaking to us in a way that He did in the wilderness. We experience "ah-ha. moments" by repeated reading of the same scripture. God opens our eyes and speaks to us through His Word. Evidence has been found by archeologists because the bible exists. History has been understood, because the bible exists. Jesus has been made known, because the bible exists. And the Gospel continues to be spread throughout, because God's Word exists. The bible allows us to peer into a small portion of God's thoughts, and a big portion of His plans for redemption, the hope of eternal life He has before us.

Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit:

As a JW, I was taught to believe that the Holy Spirit was not God, but the "active force," much like electricity through a socket. We cannot see it, but we know it exists because the appliance comes to life when the plug is in the socket.

After much research and studying in the OT and NT during my training through taking theological biblical studies courses, I have come to an understanding of the truth of the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised His disciples that the "Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you" (John 14:26). "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come" (John 16:13. Paul told the Corinthian church regarding his teachings on Christ is "not in words taught by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words" (1 Cor 2:13).

Romans 8:26-27 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God." When reading God's Word, the Holy Spirit reveals to us what He wants us to know. When we pray, we ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us God's wisdom in our decision making, or intercedes on our behalf when praying over others, especially when we don't know their circumstances. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will show up at a time that we feel the need to speak to someone in our presence that He wants us to reveal.

So, what does all of this mean to me? God is Spirit, and the Spirit indwells in those who have come to believe in Christ. "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom...we are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" (2 Cor 3:16b, 18b). God's Spirit is life. He "breathed the breath of life" in man, which brought him to life, by His Spirit. Our "body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God." The Spirit is the deity of Christ. Christ said to "baptize those in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matt 28:19).

Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ:

I grew up as an atheist, and in a non-believing family. I had no desire or interest in God, in religion, or attending a church. I remember my mother put my brother and I in a summer bible school when we were very young. I had no idea what was being said or what we were doing, because I am deaf. I had no knowledge of any sign language, and I grew up in a hearing/oral environment, and had no deaf friends until I was a Senior in High school. I have attended a few churches over time for a memorials, a wedding, or during a holiday when a friend invited me to join. Each time I stepped foot into a church, any church, I felt very nauseous.

In 1994, I started dating David, who I have been married to for 29 years now (together for 30), there was a knock on my apartment door, and two men with their bibles were standing there. I had no idea who or what they were, and as I was about to tell them "I am not interested," my phone rang, and it was David on the line. I told them about the two men at the door and he asked if they were Jehovah's Witnesses. I told him I had no idea, and asked if they were wearing white shirts with a name badge. I said no, and he explained who they were and told me to invite them in. David had studied with them for a very brief period during his first marriage, and stopped. After two hours with those men, they had me convinced that there may be a God after all through the use of their bible. I needed solid proof that God exists, not just mere words and the creation all around me. The bible was the proof I needed. This was my first divine intervention. After spending the next 23 years as a Jehovah's Witness, my husband and I discovered the underlying, hidden truths of countless unreported child abuse and pedophilia, that we instantly removed ourselves from this religion. We did our research on these lawsuits, on their teachings, and came to the conclusion that it was all false teachings, and they continued to deny their involvement with the unreported child abuse cases and pedophilia, and tried to conceal all evidence. My second divine intervention. This started the beginning of what I call my "Exodus." A year after getting married, we had moved from Colorado to the Pacific Northwest, and lived there for the next 23 years and then moved to the Phoenix Arizona area. While residing in the Pacific Northwest/Bend Oregon, I had spent the first 6 years going door to door for 50-70 hours per month, and then the last 17 years in the ASL ministry, working within the Deaf community. This became my sole identity. I was taught that all religions were false religions, Babylon the Great, and that the JW religion is the one true religion. Upon leaving this religion, I had lost every single friend I had made over those years, even 23 years of friendships. I felt lost and confused, just like Saul, when he faced Jesus on the road to Damascus and became blind. I had my suspicions of other churches, and my husband encouraged me to attend one service with him that our next door neighbors (my next divine intervention) invited him to, and to attend their Church camp. The church camp gave me the hope I needed, and through their constant prayers (I have NEVER seen so many prayers in my life!) and their knowledge of the bible they were able to convey some of the truths I needed to hear. I continued to do deep research on all things, and regularly attended the church our neighbors attended. In talking with a friend about certain subjects in the bible, we came to the topic on baptism, as our church was holding a baptism that week on Resurrection Sunday, April 1, 2018. It was the Holy Spirit that told me through my friend that I needed to get baptized. This was another example of divine intervention. When I realized that I was baptized under man, under an organization, I knew I needed to do this. I felt I was not truly baptized, so I made the decision, and didn't tell anyone, not even my last two children who were still living at home, until the day of. My pastor's wife didn't know until the night before.

Two years later when Covid hit, our church had to find a new location because we held ours in a school. In Sept., I felt that I needed to have a sign language interpreter, so my husband and I discussed with the leadership in our church and they allowed us to search for an agency and they would be willing to pay for interpreting services. Long story short, after much searching, we had decided on an agency, but there were no interpreters available on Sundays, and at the very last minute, one came forward along with another who wanted to audit. After this man walked in the door, how thrilled we were to see that he was the ONE we had been searching for all along! Another divine intervention! We had no name or contact, and we had been searching for him since we met him a year prior at a Casting Crowns concert that he interpreted for. We built a fast friendship with him, and he later introduced us to Pioneer Bible Translators, which again was another one of God's intervention.
David and I applied and went through this very long and tedious process, that typically takes a year, and got in within nine months. Upon joining Pioneer Bible in 2021, I wanted to focus on Scripture Impact in the Deaf community. The next two years I went through a theological college education training they provided through Pioneer Bible, and during that training, I was asked to be a training coach as my new role in the Deaf group/ministry. I spent the next year attending the weekly team coach meetings, and took a coaching leadership course through them before discovering ICCI in Sept. 2023. Today, I am coaching four new coachees, along with several coachees that I will soon be taking over for my current coach.
So, how does the "Exodus" come into play? Being in the JW organization is my Egypt. I was enslaved under all their false teachings, being trained in the door to door ministry as a "missionary," until God said, "Go, leave now." The pedophila, the countless numbers of unreported child abuse cases and the biblical researching was the "message" that God was sending me. My loss of long-term friendships, depression, isolation, etc. was the parting of the red sea into the wilderness. The wilderness was my season of researching truths, finding who God and Jesus really are, and attending a non-denominational church. Right at the edge between the wilderness and the promised land is Pioneer Bible. That is where I truly grew in knowledge of God's Word, and clearly saw how he carried me "on eagles' wings and brought (me) to (himself) (Ex. 19:4). My story is His Divine Interventions because he knew what it would take to get me to believe, to build my foundation on Christ, from beginning to end.

Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.)

As the only Deaf training coach in the Deaf group/ministry through Pioneer Bible Translators, I regularly attend all of our team meetings weekly. Once a week we hold a regular, two hour zoom meeting with all on our Coaching Team, which consists of breaking into small groups praying for one another, and in our large group praying over our coachees. Bi-weekly, we hold a one hour Team strategy/training meeting. Each year, we plan for an annual Coaches' retreat for a weekend of training, fellowship, and prayers.

I do attend ICCI's Meet and Greet Zoom meetings monthly, and try to interact on the Mighty Network, encouraging others with a scripture, quote or lyrics from a song.

Weekly, I attend our Deaf Ministry Team Leadership meetings, and our Deaf group zoom meetings as a whole, discussing bible scriptures and how we apply such scriptures in our life, our ministry, working alongside as a team, or discuss other biblical topics based on biblical principles.

PBT's mission as a Deaf Coach is for me to work alongside the Deaf teammates that come onboard and go through their prospective training for the role that they are assigned to, and just before they leave for their field mission. Because I am the only Deaf Coach, most, if not all of my coachees are either Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or CODAs (Child of Deaf Adult). I will soon be replacing my current coach, whom I am working alongside with during her coaching calls with her coachees to learn and grow as a coach, and will soon be assigned to her coachees.

Each week I will have a couple to several coaching calls. Before I begin each meeting, I open up in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit for wisdom, guidance and what he wants to reveal to us during our call, and so on. I end the meetings with them closing in prayer. Topics discussed are either through their training process, and whatever they want to talk about during the meeting. This is also the case with my current coach when I join her on her calls.

When I am in the company of a friend, or a bible group of ladies, or even my husband, sometimes, when the opportunity presents itself, I tend to put on my "coaching" hat in a stealthy way and ask questions during our conversation, incorporating a scripture or two. I regularly attend the ladies bible group from my previous church, and looking into attending the ladies bible group at my current church temporarily as my husband and I will soon be relocating to Pioneer Bible Translators in Dallas, TX.

Music is my source of worship, and I spend my time with the Lord as often as I can throughout the day, whether driving, working out at the gym, on walks, or when I am outside. I am always reading books related to spiritual formation, spiritual health and anything biblical related. Sometimes during any one of my zoom meetings, or in a Deaf group chat, I tend to share songs that come to mind, either in ASL form, or hearing, depending on the nature of the people I am in these meetings with.
