Field Experience Description

As a pastor and missionary, I have completed many hours over many years of 1:1 mentoring, coaching, and discipleship. Using methods like the 360 assessment tool with church leaders, discipleship programs, and book studies to help with the development, training and growth of youth leaders, adult leaders, group classes and training events for other ministry leaders. I do not have an exact count of these hours but I have been in full-time, career ministry work since 2002.

I have also led connection groups over 5 years with VelvetAshes.com, an online community for women serving overseas. These groups consist of 4-6 women and run about 8-10 weeks. As the group facilitator, I was able to coach, lead discussions, help and encourage women in a small group setting.

Through our mission (Assemblies of God World Missions), I led small groups via Whatsapp as a precursor to a larger event. I formulated conversation, questions and discussions as a lead in to topics that would later be discussed at the conference.

In 2018-2020, I was a group coach for a program called BlogSmarter in which, as coaches, we helped a group of 20 women navigate the program together. The program led them through the steps of transitioning from mom bloggers to business bloggers. As a coach, I led discussions, asked questions, helped them process their goals for their business, walked them through the planning stages and encouraged them as they took their first steps in the business blogging world.

Since beginning my coaching training with ICCI, I have been working 1:1 with Dr. Stephanie Holmes, started coaching a small group at a local Christian Wellness Center, started 1:1 coaching with 4 women via zoom and have completed my 6 mentoring sessions with Gary Morais.

Again, I do not have a count of these hours but I could provide further documentation for some of these things, if needed.

Spiritual Orientation and Practice

Spiritual Orientation and Practice

Instructions

Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life. He is my counselor, friend, helper, protection and savior. Jesus is the Truth and the Way to heaven. I am so thankful for my relationship with Jesus and for the close, daily whispers of direction and help. He has been with me through some very difficult times in the past few years and I realize again and again that He is faithful, He is present, and He is love.

How does a person become Christian?

To become a Christian, a person must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is the only way to heaven, the only way to receive forgiveness of sin and rightness before God. Very simply, a person my accept that Jesus is Lord, they must believe in him as Savior who died on a cross and rose again on the 3rd day and they must confess their sins and confess their need of a Savior.

Describe your beliefs about the Bible:

I believe that the Bible is the very Word of God. I believe that every word is true and applicable to our lives in every way. I believe that the Bible is useful for teaching and correcting. I believe it holds principles that should guide our decisions, goals, relationships, work, and play. I believe that it should be studied, memorized, and put into practice every day.

Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit:

I believe that the Holy Spirit is part of the triune God. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and our peace. I believe that each believer has the Holy Spirit with them at conversion but I also believe in the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit to empower us daily as believers and proclaimers of the Gospel. I believe that these gifts are available to Christians today.

Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ:

As a pastor's kid, I have been in church since the day I was born. I asked Jesus to be Lord of my life in a Sunday School class when I was 4 years old. At summer camp when I was 9, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and felt a call to full-time ministry. That call developed through high school with a love for God's Word and making it a part of my daily life. I attended Bible College where I felt God's leading into children's ministry and overseas missions work. Since 2017, my life has been complicated and full of many challenges. Sickness, death in the family, relationship struggles and organizational challenges within my work. Through it all, God has faithfully led my steps, encouraged my heart and spoken life to me. I've had opportunities to speak truth into situations and watch God heal, restore, and work in my life and the lives of those around me. I have felt His presence with me in each season and I know He is in this call to coaching.

Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.)

I have always loved coaching, mentoring and discipleship. I enjoy teaching in ways that challenge people in their walk with Christ and foster growth in their spiritual lives. In other practical ways, I am a goal setter and problem solver. I have a gift in organization and helping people figure out what is the next step or next thing to do. I love how God has woven all of that together into discovering how coaching and helping people in practical ways really go well together in the coaching space. Personally, prayer, daily Bible reading, and worship are a part of my morning. Through platforms like my blog and on instagram, I've been leading women in this practice and challenging them to dig into the Word every day. I'm excited to also incorporate this into coaching.

Through ICCI, I took the Equipping Profile Personal Development class and received mentoring from Gary Morais. That has been an incredible tool and I'm already seeing how God can use that in the lives of the people that I'm coaching. I'm currently using it in 1:1 coaching and in a group class.
