Field Experience Description

Upon reflection of my life and its experiences, I have come to the realization that I have been coaching others long before I had knowledge of the concept itself. During my high school years, I guided my then-boyfriend, who had aspirations but no idea how to achieve them, to apply and attend college in the US. Despite the language barrier, he was able to successfully accomplish this task. Throughout my college career, I assisted my closest friend in overcoming deep-rooted self-esteem issues, as well as coaching my college boyfriend at the time to overcome his past and find a successful career in law enforcement.

The year 2010 marked a significant milestone in my life as I became a Christian, and in 2012, I was baptized. During this time, I began to read scripture regularly, and through the guidance of God's word, I was slowly but surely being "coached." It was during this period that my two most prominent coaching "clients" - my husband and my son - emerged. I have had a multitude of teachable coaching moments with both of them, which have imparted wisdom, and set up the path for life transitions from retirement to opening businesses, from high school to now a young attorney. Accomplishments and breakthroughs have been many, but the most beautiful outcome of this journey is the trusting and loving relationships we have forged with one another, strengthened by God's word and led by the Holy Spirit. I am honored to say that today my husband successfully retired from law enforcement and owns his own carpentry business and my son is a young attorney writing his first book on humility.

In 2023, I have had the honor of many coaching opportunities and have invested 70 hours in coaching others on a volunteer basis. My current list of coachees includes Maria C., Emmalie B., and Aidan G., Linda B., among others. I have successfully coached them on issues such as parenting, marriage, confidence, fear of speaking, life transitions, health, business start up and relationships. I have also written and conducted parenting workshops and courses on the seven habits of a Proverbs 31 woman. The fruit has been plentiful from this coaching, with several women opening their first businesses, marriage storms calmed, and confidence blossoming where it seemed impossible.

Currently, I am coaching a group of 5 young adult ladies to empower them to become confident, wise, and industrious women in preparation for marriage, motherhood, and life. I plan to grow this group into a ministry that prepares young women to become the women of the noble character described in Proverbs 31, with the ultimate goal of building a solid foundation for future families.

My approach is rooted in scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit. Formalizing my credentials as a life coach through ICCI is a crucial component of starting a coaching career with the right foundation. I plan to continue my credentialing up to achieving a mastery level.

Instructions

Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Jesus, my savior and redeemer, forgave my sins and restored my relationship with God. He fixed my marriage, business, health, and heart.

As the son of God and the son of man, Jesus is the only way to restore our relationship with God and the beacon of hope that brings light to the world. Through his example, we learn how to live sinless lives, and through his death and resurrection, we receive new life. Salvation is a gift of grace and mercy from the Father, given to us when we repent and have faith in Jesus Christ. Following Jesus leads us to a new heart filled with kindness, love, patience, and forgiveness, and in this new person, we live out God's purpose and thrive.

Let us embrace this truth and live a life that glorifies Jesus.

How does a person become Christian?

Becoming a Christian requires an unwavering commitment to repenting, asking for forgiveness, and placing your complete faith in Jesus Christ as the son of God, our lord, and our Savior. The act of salvation and being baptized is the undeniable start of a new life. While baptism is not mandatory for salvation, it is an outward expression that boldly demonstrates our faith in Christ and utmost love and respect for God, our Father.

Becoming a Christian begins a lifelong journey in seeking to know God, trusting him, and walking by faith. In this quest, we develop the most profound and meaningful relationship with our Father, ultimately bearing the fruit of Love, kindness, Patience, Forgiveness, and Compassion toward others.

Describe your beliefs about the Bible:

The Bible is a revered scripture that is the word of God, inspired by Him and written by men. It serves as a guide to finding life's truths and gaining wisdom. The Bible is a timeless and relevant text that speaks to us through our deepest struggles, providing hope and strength when we feel weak. It provides wisdom and empowers us to share the gospel with others.

Contrary to the popular belief that life does not come with instructions, the Bible can be considered the "Instruction Manual for Humanity". Just like a car manufacturer designs and produces a car with a specific intelligent design and purpose, and provides an instruction manual, God made us in his image, with a God-given purpose, and gave us the Bible as our "Operator's Manual". "The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.” Exodus 24:12

One can indeed operate a car without reading its instruction manual. Still, without knowing and understanding the car's instructions, one may miss out on its full potential and purpose and sometimes make devastating mistakes. Similarly, many of us lead our lives without seeking guidance from the Bible, thinking that we have it all figured out, and then find ourselves lost, confused, and without purpose.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction," Proverbs 1:7; "Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.", Proverbs 15:33

To receive God's instructions, one must have a humble heart. Love and reverence for Him are necessary for obedience. In this humility and obedience, we find our path to a purposeful life filled with joy.

Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is God's spirit that lives within us. It provides wise guidance, instructs us, and nudges us to stay on the path of righteousness and wisdom. It empowers us to live without fear and strengthens us in despair; "And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you." Romans 8:11

After Jesus resurrected and spent 40 days with his disciples, he left them with the promise of the Holy Spirit to empower them to fulfill his great commission; "Jesus tells his disciples that he will leave them soon, but he will not leave them alone. He promises to send them the Holy Spirit to inhabit their hearts and to give them understanding and direction in their lives." John 14:23-29

The Holy Spirit serves as an indispensable aid in confronting any circumstances in life with unwavering confidence. This is owed to the understanding that the Lord is ever-present and that all things are achievable through Him. Through personal experience, as well as that of many others, I have witnessed firsthand the power of the Holy Spirit. It is capable of accomplishing boundless feats beyond the limitations of our human nature.

Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ:

During my formative years, I was instilled with a belief in God, although my exposure to the tenets of faith and scripture was limited. However, 2010, marked by trials and tribulations, left me in profound despair. Yet, unbeknownst to me, this period of darkness would catalyze my spiritual growth. During this time, I realized that my struggles were serving to shape my character, strengthen my faith, and reveal the true nature of God.

In 2001, I became an entrepreneur and opened my own business. I established a line of natural aromatherapy and herbal products that proved highly successful. These products were sold in luxury hotels, Costco Roadshows, Bed Bath and Beyond, and many more. It was hard work, but life was good! Unfortunately, the economic downturn of 2007 presented significant challenges. I was forced to downsize my manufacturing operation, terminate multiple employees, and completely restructure my business to stay afloat.

The ensuing stress of running a business, my husband's demanding occupation as a law enforcement officer, having children, a blended family, and caring for two elderly relatives in our home added to my burden. The financial strain of the downturn had me feeling like I was on the verge of losing everything. Then, I turned to God and asked my husband to do the same to save our marriage. This decision would prove to be a turning point in my life and the lives of my family and friends.

As I began to read scripture in the solitude of early morning hours, I gained a deeper understanding of God and an appreciation for the lessons He sought to impart to me as a woman, a wife, and a mother. My husband and I read Proverbs together and discussed the teachings, which enabled us to communicate more effectively, leading to greater intimacy and vulnerability in our relationship. I discovered an inner peace that was new to me and essential to our marriage.

My son, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I were baptized two years later. It took an additional seven years of prayer before my husband accepted Christ, but I remained faithful throughout. This waiting taught me much about God, patience, tenacity, and the power of prayer; nothing is more rewarding than to see God's answered prayers when one of his children turns to him in faith.

Turning to God saved our marriage, my health, and my son. The ripple effect of that decision has touched many people and led them to find Christ. God healed and restored our relationship and provided for all our financial needs; we never lost our home or marriage. Instead, we gained salvation, a strong marriage, and a relationship with God that will last an eternity.

In 2019, we moved to Florida from Las Vegas, and in 2022, we joined the start-up team of a small church plant in Sarasota. Since then, God has been using, grooming, and pruning me, and I am honored and blessed to serve him.

The current state of my life is one of profound joy and gratitude, as I have been enjoying a fulfilling marriage in our 50s and am proud to say we have been married for 27 years. Our son, who has attained professional success and is authoring his first faith-based book, and my stepdaughter, husband, and grandchildren seek God.

My life's journey has been pivotal in cultivating my passion for coaching women in their journeys. To this end, I am currently on the path to becoming a life coach and establishing a ministry for women. This will allow me to impart the knowledge that I have gained to help them establish a solid foundation based on faith, family values, and God's love.

Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.)

I have recently started a women's ministry that offers coaching and deep Bible study to women aged 20 and above. Starting the day with the right tone is crucial for success. That's why I prioritize beginning my day with God. My day starts early at 5:30 am with a structured routine that devotes the first 30 minutes to an hour to meditation and prayer. At 7 am, I study scripture and have coffee with my spouse. Then, I take a brisk 45-minute workout before engaging in my daily activities. Before any ministry or coaching meetings, I pray and worship, seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit in all interactions. This practice helps me focus on what is essential and deliver coaching sessions more effectively.

The names of my ministry are "The P31 Woman" (ages 20-31) and "The P31+ Woman" (ages 32+), which aim to help women become Godly entrepreneurs, wives, and mothers. The ministry's name is derived from Proverbs 31, which describes a woman of noble character. I have designed a three-part study workshop summarizing the scriptures into seven habits that a P31 woman should seek to embody: Seeking God, Industriousness, Nurturing, Pursuing Excellence, Diligence, Strength, and Resourcefulness. I have developed this powerful tool by praying, meditating, reflecting on the scriptures, listening to the Holy Spirit's prompting and clarity, and drawing from my life experiences.

The primary objective of the P31 Women's Ministries is to prepare women to be nurturing, wise, and noble in their careers, parenting, and marriages. I believe that by laying a solid foundation in the hearts of women, we can establish the proper groundwork for family and home life. Even though the husband is the leader of the house, women provide spiritual, emotional, and financial support in the household, nurturing, caring, educating, and encouraging their families. This ministry aims to make a difference in society by strengthening the family unit and home life from the ground up.

My long range objective is to establish a men's ministry that runs in parallel with the P31 Women Ministry. The achievement of this goal necessitates collaboration with a male coach or pastor to create a ministry that focuses on preparing young men to become responsible providers, faithful husbands, and nurturing fathers. These two ministries will operate in concert to provide guidance to the next generation. This initiative will prove to be foundational for adult living for both genders, regardless of their marital status. But for those who choose to marry, this ministry will be foundational to marriage, family, and home life. A strong foundation deeply rooted in God's love and grace and love for one another.
