Education/Training Description

I have worked as a Board-Certified Chaplain over the last 15 years. Now I am studying to become a Certified Professional Christian Life Coach through ICCI. I have been training in Grief Education through David Kessler and training as a CPCLC over the last 6 months. To date my training in Life Coaching has strictly been through ICCI and Strong Families. I chose Strong Families because I believe that a strong community and society begins with strong families. The one area that Strong Families has provided me the best training in, is through the Connect Assessment. This assessment allows individuals to identify their strengths and their style of communication with others. It also gives tips on how to communicate with those who have different personalities and traits. I believe that one of the best ways to promote peace and harmony is learning how to better communicate with those around you, especially with those within your own family. Therefore, my ministry as a life coach is to work with Christian families (within the church, and Christian organizations). I realize that I am new to Christian Life Coaching, but I believe with my life experiences and my strong faith in Jesus Christ, I have a lot to offer to help other families. My mentoring for Christian Life Coaching has been with Dr. Trent and his daughter Kari Trent-Stageberg.

Field Experience Description

These 83 hours of field experiences have been obtained over the last 5 months. I have worked with families and one-on-one with individuals in providing Connect Assessments and reviewing, in detail how each individual within the family could learn how to communicate better with other members of the family. I have administered and help decipher and implement change within the family environment of 25 individuals through the Connect Assessment. This process has improved the communication within the families of over 100+ family members. I have also gone through the process of helping individuals who have been "stuck" not knowing where to turn, by helping them "Map" their way to a better life. The results have been phenomenal. This was accomplished through using the book published by Dr. John Trent and his daughter Kari Trent Stageberg. "Where Do I Go From Here?" LifeMapping your Way from Personal Chaos to Purposeful Calm. I am glad that God led me to ICCI and Strong Families where I believe that I can not only make a difference in my life and my family but also within the community in which I live.

Instructions

Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

I have a very strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is my everything. I love him with all my heart and am so grateful that he died on the cross for all my sins. I believe that he is coming back again. I believe I will meet him in heaven when I die and will spend eternity praising and worshiping him.

How does a person become Christian?

A person becomes a Christian by acknowledging that they are sinners and that Jesus died on the Cross for our sins and that we believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God sent Jesus to bear the sins of the world so that we could live in heaven some day.

Describe your beliefs about the Bible:

I believe that every word of the Bible is the inspired word of God. I believe that the Bible was given to us as the inspired Word of God to provide a map for the way we should live in this world and to provide guidance to us throughout this life time. The Bible has all the information we need to live as Christians in this world.

Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit:

I believe that the Holy Spirit was sent to us to guide and direct us in all that we do, when Jesus died and went to heaven. I am able to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as He guides me through this life here on earth.

Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ:

I was raised in a Christian home. My mother and father were God fearing people. I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 16 years old. We were taught that miracles were everyday occurrences. When our washing machine stopped working and we did not have money to repair it, my mother prayed over it and it began to work without any problem. I grew up believing that the Holy Spirit was an integral part of our regular existence on this earth. He was a friend that was there to help us. He was also the Master of the Universe and deserved the upmost respect. I have had my trials and failures along the way, but I have always repented and turned to my faith, knowing that God is a loving God and would forgive me through the Blood of Jesus Christ. Today, I am a widow. I know my life here on earth is winding down, but I would like to help others find the peace and love that is available to them through the love of God.

Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.)

I decided to go into Life Coaching as a method of helping the families that are around me to learn how to communicate with each other better. I believe a lot of the problems seen in families, communities and the world at large are due to not knowing how to communicate. Families continue to be under attack - especially Christian families. In most families, it is just a small 2-degree change that is needed to help families communicate better. When families are communicating at a healthy level, it allows for more peace and harmony. Many times, Christian families are so busy they fail to make time to prayer, reading Scripture and meditation. Just being able to help these families realize that their lives can be so much more peaceful is a joy. In my practice and ministry as a life coach, I incorporate prayer as a must. Each session begins with the request that Holy Spirit be present and lead us in the right direction. I depend highly on the leading of the Holy Spirit. In many situations the Holy Spirit has revealed insights that would not normally be possible without his guidance. Sometimes, the Holy Spirit has prompted me not to speak and to allow Him to work through silence. (I'm also sure this has something to do with my training as a Board-Certified Christian Chaplain). I heavily rely on guidance by the Holy Spirit and also on my mentor.
