Assigned to us for the coaching process and practicum classes were resources for coaching, including:
1. Christ-Centered Coaching, by Jane Creswell
2. Faith Coaching by Hall, Copper, and McElveen
3. Coaching for Christian Leaders: A Practical Guide, by Miller and Hall
4. The Coach Model for Christian Leaders, by Keith Webb
5. Practicing Positive Psychology, by Robert Biswas-Diener (I presented this chosen resource from many other recommended books.)
6. Christian Coaching, by Gary Collins
7. Coaching the Coach: Life Coaching Stories for Transforming Lives, by Georgia Shaffer
8. Transformissional Coaching, by Ogne and Rochl
9. Leadership Coaching: The Disciplines, Skills, and Heart of a Christian Coach, by Tony Stoltzfus
I have also read other material on coaching, and one particular book is called "Coach the Person, Not the Problem" by Marchia Reynolds.

Spiritual Orientation and Practice

Instructions

Please define/describe your thoughts and beliefs on the following questions.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and Lord. He suffered and died on the cross for my past, present, and future sins so that I may be in a right relationship with God, our heavenly Father, and live with Him eternally.
Jesus Christ is God's son (John 3:16). He is the second person of the Trinity whom God sent to redeem the world from their sins. The Bible teaches that humanity was "born in sin and shaped in iniquity" (Ps. 51:5). Therefore, we needed a perfect human being to stand in our place before God, save us from our sins, and reconnect us to God the Father (1 Tim. 2:5).
In God's love, He sent Jesus, His son to the world, because of his perfection, to die in our place and pay a debt that man could never repay after the fall of Adam (Rom. 5:11-12).

How does a person become Christian?

The Bible promises in Act 16:31 that those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.

John 3:16 promises that whoever believes in God's son, Jesus Christ, he/she will receive eternal life.

Romans 10:9-10 states that a person becomes saved by confessing with their mouth that Jesus is God and believing in their heart that God raised Jesus from the grave. Vs. 10 verifies this person's salvation because they confessed Jesus Christ as Savior and had a sincere heart belief, by faith, that he is who he says he is.

Describe your beliefs about the Bible:

The Bible is God's voice (special revelations) to all who believe in Christ Jesus (God's children) (Ps. 119:105).
It is inerrant and infallible, meaning it has no errors or mistakes (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The Bible is the believer's guide for how to live a godly life with sincere devotion to Christ (2 Peter 1:3).

Describe your beliefs about the Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit. He is the third person of the Trinity who guides all believers into God's truth (Acts 2:32-33; John 16:13).
He indwells the believer (Rom. 8:9-11).
He empowers the believer to live a life worthy of the call God has placed in the believer's life (Eph. 3:16).
He sets the believer apart from the world and seals or guarantees the believer's salvation (Eph. 1: 13; 2 Cor. 1:22; Thess 2:13; Rom. 8)
He fills the believer to exercise God's fruit and gifts in modeling Christ in God's church so that the world can be saved (Eph. 4).
He helps, comforts, teaches, counsels, and guides the believer in life (John 14:26).

Briefly describe your personal faith testimony, your spiritual journey, and current walk with Christ:

I came to know Jesus at age eleven when the Lord unexpectedly took my father home to heaven. He was a devout pastor, teacher, counselor, and friend to many. My immediate family and church family were shaken. I had insomnia for days shortly after my father's death. I'll never forget the Holy Spirit's conviction and leading as He revealed why I was not saved, and that I would not see my father again. He led me one night into my mother's bedroom, and through John 3:16, I received Christ as Savior and Lord in pardon of my sins.
I became a witness of Christ and am not ashamed of my faith. I was a short-term missionary in Nova Scotia, Canada, and minister in many other ways. I disciple others in Christ and continue studying the Bible through self-study and Seminary education. I facilitate a topical Sunday School class in my church along with a brother in Christ, using June Hunt's biblical keys and vast topics for life. I sign through songs in American Sign Language and sing in a chorus choir. I have also served in the Tarrant County food pantry. When time permits, I volunteer with "Need Him" Global organization. I maintain a website as much as possible: www.ainspirations.com.

Describe your Life Coaching practice/ministry and how you incorporate biblical principles, as well as spiritual practices and disciplines in your coaching activities (e.g., prayer, the use of Scripture, meditation, worship, solitude, etc.)

Last year, as I went through my coaching classes at DTS, the Lord confirmed and laid a coaching business ministry on my heart. It is called Excel Life Coaching, and the website is www.excelifecoaching. It will officially open in September 2023, Lord willing. My goal is to minister to women who feel stuck based on their emotional distress or/and their lack of short-term and future goal planning. I plan to lead people by God's word, prayer, meditation of scripture, and other spiritual disciplines and practice, but also through active listening to clearly hear the Holy Spirit's voice in the matter at hand. I will also use personality tests such as Myer Brigg and Eneagram as necessary and other life coaching strategies learned.
